Yury Gezentsvey, principal violinist with the NZSO for almost 40yrs is putting on a recital to celebrate the music of Fitz Kreisler at St Hilda’s, here is Island Bay.
Fitz Kreisler is a fundamental composer of violin music, the Miyagi of his day, known and played by violinists for almost 150yrs. Kriesler’s music is expressive and engaging. Yury will totally bring it; he’s one of the best. Yury has prepared fifteen short pieces from Kreisler, accompanied by pianist Kirsten Simpson-Robinson.
