Athena Richmond – Bishop’s Warden
I have my roots in South Africa, came via the UK. I came to New Zealand in 2017 and can say this is one of the best moves I have made; Wellington is home to me now. I have worked as a social worker in many contexts. I love being part of a diverse and committed team at St Hilda’s where we all have different strengths. The warmth and hospitality at our church drew me in and I have continued to grow in faith ever since. I have a special interest in development and creativity and have had plenty of support and opportunity to put this into practice. I am proud to be part of a faith community that strives to respond to Jesus’ call to “Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another.”
Irene Studman – People’s Warden
An enthusiastic member of St Hilda’s since arriving in Island Bay in 2006. Irene enjoys contributing to the frequent shared meals and other gatherings. A member of the Island Bay Garden Club that meets here on the fourth Tuesday in the month, she helps beautify the play areas and gardens around the property. As People’s Warden Irene is grateful for the opportunity to meet visitors and regulars who come to St Hilda’s church. She hopes to meet you soon.
